Magical walkways of gracefully cut flower arches and dirt pathways welcome you to Hacienda San Jose. Exquisite colors pop at every corner of the hacienda, making days brighter and nights more mysterious against the flickering of candles. Located in the northern Yucatan peninsula, this historical plantation house is close to the Chichen Itza archaeological site and exudes an atmosphere of the past.
Almost all guest rooms form part of the fully restored, original buildings that have been adapted to today's needs. Their high ceilings and unique décor evoke the splendor of past eras. A specific restoration project worked to maintain its particular architectural personality by conserving the same spirit that its former owners gave to it. In some cases, the restoration brings together contemporary and traditional aspects, allowing the new spaces to highlight the artistic and architectural value of the Hacienda's original features. Most of the guest rooms feature 18-foot ceilings with exposed beams and rafters, 10-foot wooden double doors, beautiful wooden beds, dark, tropical hardwood cabinets, and cool tile floors. Additionally, large, bulbous pegs in stonewalls hold woven cotton hammocks, allowing you to sleep in the Mayan style. For an even truer Mayan experience, the Mayan Villas consist of authentic Mayan Palapas transformed into deluxe accommodations. They combine unique Mayan architecture with the modern expectations of today's sophisticated traveler.
Hacienda San Jose's restaurant is located within the old factory buildings and overlooks the breathtaking main gardens. The menu proposes a blend of regional and international cuisine masterfully crafted using organic ingredients taken from the orchards.
